Promote students' social-emotional growth, development, and individual responsibility using positive interventions and supports, restorative justice, and conflict resolution practices to foster a caring community where each student is treated fairly and respectfully by adults and peers.

Thoughts on TPE 2.1

Creating a plan and vision for a classroom management system to promote a positive class and support for all students. This should support all students’ social-emotional growth, development, learning environments and allows me to maintain clear expectations for a positive classroom environment. My classroom management plan covers everything from procedures, classroom layout, expectations, positive reinforcement tools, and social emotional support for students within the classroom.

TPE 2.2

Create learning environments (i.e., traditional, blended, and online) that promote productive student learning, encourage positive interactions among students, reflect diversity and multiple perspectives, and are culturally responsive.

Thoughts on TPE 2.2

In this Lesson Plan you see the example of TPE 2.2 by my incorporation of pair sharing and table group “huddles”. I ask students to work together in a productive way to work on building an opening sentence and to brainstorm ideas for our details on the subject. This allows students to share their different perspectives and opinions on the subject and collaborate with their classmates in a low stakes’ environment. Students are able to engage with one another, not having to worry about their answer being right or wrong. Then we share these ideas as a class and add them to our circle map for brainstorming ideas for our writing assignment.
